The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Mrs. Maxine Sawchyn can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Thank you.

Linda Brown (Kalyniuk), John, Katrina, Ian, Jo-Anne, Judy, Norman Kalyniuk

To Kenny, Don, Barry, Rendell, Cindy My brother, Norman, sisters, Joanne and Judy and my family, John, Katrina and Ian were saddened by the news of the passing of our Auntie Maxine. Judy was just speaking with Pat Vezina who called to tell her that her husband was flown here for heart surgery and she asked about Auntie Maxine. Pat just called to tell us of her passing. We have such fond memories of our childhood in Thunder Bay and we were recounting stories of the "early" days when we were all living together in the house on Crawford Street while your house was being built on Mountain Ave. Every time I came back to Thunder Bay I would go with my mother to visit Auntie Maxine. We have not had many opportunities to see auntie Maxine since my mother and father moved to Newmarket to live with my sisters. All of us remember how friendly and caring she was, and the great sense of humour she had. It was so nice that she was able to live with Kenny and family as long as she did. On behalf of the Brown and Kalyniuk family, we would like to send our condolences to all of you, and that Auntie Maxine will be in our thoughts and prayers at this time.
